Canadian Turning Points Series
This 12 × 18 inch full-colour poster provides an overview of the residential school system and its lasting impact on Indigenous communities in Canada.
For more than a century, Indigenous children were removed from their families and placed in government-funded, church-run institutions that aimed to suppress Indigenous languages and cultures.
The poster explains the historical context of residential schools and introduces the work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and its Calls to Action.
Ideal for:
• Indigenous history education
• National Day for Truth and Reconciliation programming
• library educational displays
• reconciliation and social justice discussions
