This original painting, "Memories of the Sea" was done in memory of the SS Komagata Maru incident which was when a chartered ship featured in a dramatic challenge to Canada’s former practice of excluding immigrants from India.
The artwork is featured in a poster created by Order of Canada recipient and artist Robert Small that has been distributed across Canada,
